With the fervor of fans who jam Fenway Park to hear the crack of the bat on opening day, families journeyed to Smugglers’ Notch Resort in northern Vermont last Saturday to usher in ski season. As fat flakes drifted over the resort, skiers who had dreamed for months of downhill runs hopped on lifts and played in the powder. What’s more, Vermont’s first zip-line canopy tour got off the ground.
